The Role of the European union as an actor in the process of europeanization in the case of the problem of Azerbaijanian ethnic minority in Georgia

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis: “The role of the European union as an actor in the process of europeanization in the case of the problem of Azerbaijani ethnic minority in Georgia” is to analyse the role of the European union as an actor in the process of europeanization in Georgia in the context of solving the problems of Azerbaijani ethnic minority. The research focuses on the period from the foundation of Eastern Partnership to the end of the research period, which is May 2019. The thesis includes an overview of an existing research and relevant theoretical background in europeanization and neighbourhood europeanization. The next section continues with a detailed description of the context of the relationship of the European union and Georgia and problematic of Azerbaijani minority. Finally, the role of the European union as an actor in the process of europeanization in Georgia in the context of solving the problems of Azerbaijani minority is analysed.

Abstract:

Predmetom diplomovej práce „Rola Európskej únie ako aktéra v procese europeizácie pri riešení problematiky azerbajdžanskej menšiny v Gruzínsku“ je analýza pôsobenia Európskej únie ako aktéra v procese europeizácie v Gruzínsku pri riešení problematiky ochrany práv a integrácie azerbajdžanskej etnickej menšiny. Skúmaným obdobím je obdobie od vzniku Východného Partnerstva do konca skúmaného obdobia, ktorým je máj 2019. Práca obsahuje prehľad doterajšieho výskumu a teoretické ukotvenie v oblasti europeizácie a susedskej europeizácie. V ďalšej časti je detailne popísaný kontext problematiky vzťahu Európskej únie a Gruzínska a problematiky azerbajdžanskej menšiny. Nakoniec je analyzované pôsobenie Európskej únie ako aktéra v procese europeizácie pri riešení problematiky azerbajdžanskej menšiny v Gruzínsku.
