Influence of age and ametropies on the accomodation-convergence mechanism

Abstract:

Annotation The bachelor´s thesis describes processes of accommodation and convergence as separate units as well as the relationship between them. It covers the function and malfunction of accommodation-convergence mechanism as a holistic system and binocular vision anomalies connected with it. Next, it deals with influence of age and ametropies on accommodation-convergence mechanism and defines its individual disorders, their symptoms, diagnosis and therapy. The diagnosis covers motility tests, accommodation and convergence tests, test of fusion reserves, AC/A ratio measurements, dissociation tests and a fixation disparity test. It concentrates on fixation disparity and heterophoria investigation and their optical correction.

Abstract:

Anotácia Práca popisuje procesy akomodácie a konvergencie jednotlivo aj ako celok. Zaoberá sa fungovaním akomodačno-konvergenčného mechanizmu, jeho poruchami a s tým súvisiacimi anomáliami binokulárneho videnia. Ďalej popisuje vplyv veku a refrakčných vád na akomodačno-konvergenčný mechanizmus, definuje poruchy mechanizmu, symptómy porúch, diagnózu a terapiu porúch. Diagnostika zahŕňa testy motility, meranie akomodácie, konvergencie, fúznych rezerv, pomeru AC/A, disociačné testy a testy fixačnej disparity. Zameriava sa na zistenie fixačnej disparity a heterofórie a ich optickú korekciu.
