Intergenerational family relationships through the eyes of seniors and their grandchildren

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku mezigeneračních vztahů v rodině, konkrétněji vztahu prarodiče a vnoučete. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak zástupci těchto dvou generací nahlíží na současný stav rodiny a jaké je jejich hodnocení rodinných vztahů a konfliktů. Práce sestává ze tří částí. První, teoretická část, se věnuje vybraným problémům sociologie rodiny související především se stářím a se změnami, které jsou s touto etapou života spojené. Dále je přiblíženo téma mezigeneračních vztahů v rodině - od vzájemné solidarity ke konfliktům a nedorozumění. Jádrem diplomové práce je empirická část, kde je popsán metodologický postup a výsledky výzkumného šetření, které bylo realizováno prostřednictvím rozhovorů se seniory (+ 65) a jejich vnoučaty ve věkovém rozmezí 18 až 30 let. Třetí, závěrečná část, vychází ze dvou předchozích a je zpracována ve formě návrhu vyučovací hodiny Základů společenských věd pro střední školy zaměřené na problematiku mezigenerační vztahů a komunikace v rodině.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focused on the issue of intergenerational relationships in the family, specifically the relationship of grandparents and grandchildren. The aim is to determine how representative these two generations looks at the current state of the family and what is their assessment of family relationships and conflicts. The work consists of three parts. The first, theoretical part deals with selected problems of sociology of the family, mainly associated with old age and the changes that are associated with this stage of life together. Further is described by intergenerational relationships in the family - from mutual solidarity to conflict and misunderstanding. The core thesis is empirical part, which describes the methodological approach and results of the research, which was carried out through interviews with seniors (65 +) and their grandchildren ranging in age from 18 to 30 years. The third and final part, based on the previous two and is prepared in draft form lessons social sciences for high school focused on issues of intergenerational relationships and family communication.
