Effect of selected plant growth regulators on the parameters of energy biomass cultivated on non-agricultural soils

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o možném vlivu komerčně vyráběných rostlinných regulátorů na vybrané parametry biomasy rostliny Miscanthus x giganteus včetně spalného tepla (výhřevnosti). Rostlina Miscanthus x giganteus byla pěstována na čtyřech různých lokalitách řadících se mezi méně úrodné nebo v historii narušené lidskou činností (těžba, vojenská činnost). Před výsadbou bylo provedeno ošetření části oddenků rostlinnými růstovými regulátory Stimpo a Charkor. V době odběru vzorků bylo stáří rostlin 1 až 2 roky. U vybraných rostlin byly vyhodnoceny parametry zahrnující podíl stonek/list, obsah sušiny a hmotnost suché biomasy a u 42 vzorků těchto rostlin byla kalorimetricky stanovena spalná tepla. Podle výsledků měření se nepodařil prokázat žádný významnější vliv aplikace růstových regulátorů Stimpo a Charkor na parametry rostlin a ani na hodnoty spalného tepla. Naopak se potvrdilo, že významný vliv měl výběr lokality pro pěstování a charakteristika půdy.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the possible effect of commercially manufactured plant growth regulators on selected parameters of biomass gained from plant Miscanthus x giganteus, including the combustion heat value (calorific value). Miscanthus x giganteus plants were grown at four different locations classified as lower fertility soils or soils disturbed by human activity in the past (e.g. by mining, military activities). Before the plants were planted parts of their rhizomes had been treated with plant growth regulators Stimpo and Charkor. At the time of collecting the samples the plants were 1 to 2 years old. Selected plants had their parameters analyzed; including the stem/leaf ratio, dry matter content, and the total mass of dry biomass; and 42 plant samples had their combustion heat value determined by a calorimetric method. The measurement results failed to show any significant effect of the application of growth regulators Stimpo and Charkor either on the selected plant parameters or on the examined calorific value. Conversely, it was confirmed that the choice of planting location and the soil characteristics has a significant effect.
