The influence and impact of the crisis on businesses

Abstract:

Náplní této diplomové práce je zjistit, jaké dopady měla na společnost celosvětová ekonomická krize, jenž vznikla v roce 2007. První část práce se zaobírá teorií. Je v ní nastíněna krize jako pojem, dále jsou zmíněny větší světové krize a následně světová krize z roku 2007. Také je charakterizována teoretická stránka strategické a finanční analýzy. Analýzám je věnován závěr první části a v největší míře jsou znázorněny analýza SWOT a metody finanční analýzy s ukazateli. Ve druhé, praktické části práce, je na vybraný podnikatelský subjekt aplikována strategická a finanční analýza. Nejprve je podnik představen a dále jsou na něm z pohledu strategické analýzy provedeny metody PEST, hodnototvorný řetězec, Porterův model konkurenčního prostředí a SWOT analýza. Následně je vyhotovena samotná finanční analýza společnosti za vybrané období let 2006 a 2009. Výchozí data pro finanční analýzu pocházejí z rozvahy a výkazu zisků a ztrát. Jsou vyhotoveny ukazatele likvidity, rentability, aktivity, zadluženosti a také bankrotní model Altmanova Z-skóre. V závěru práce je uvedeno vyhodnocení finanční analýzy a splnění vytyčených cílů a hypotéz.

Abstract:

The purpose of this diploma work is to determine what impacts the worldwide economic crisis that began in 2007 have had on society. The first part of the work focuses on theories. It describes the term “crisis”, mentions larger worldwide crises and subsequently describes the worldwide crisis from 2007. It also mentions the theoretical side of strategic and financial analysis. The conclusion of the first part of the work is devoted to analyses and as much as possible highlights SWOT analyses and methods of financial analysis with indicators. In the second part of the work, the practical part, a strategic and financial analysis are applied to the selected business entity. First the company is presented, and from the point of view of strategic analysis, PEST methods, a value chain, Porter's model of a competitive environment and a SWOT analysis are applied. A financial analysis of the company itself for the selected period from 2006 to 2009 has also been produced. The original data for the financial analysis originates from the balance sheet and the profit and loss report. Indicators of liquidity, profitability, activity, indebtedness and the Altman Z-score model for predicting bankruptcy have also been processed. The conclusion of the work presents an evaluation of the financial analysis and the fulfilment of set objectives and hypotheses.
