Participation in the Academic Senate from the perspective of students' chamber members

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with participation in the Academic Senate from the per-spective of student members. The aim of the thesis is to find out how students per-ceive their activity in the Academic Senate of Masaryk University. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the possibilities of student participation, introduces the Academic Senate and describes the perception of the Senate by the members them-selves. The empirical part of the thesis starts with a description of the methodology of the research inquiry and in the conclusion presents the results of the qualitative research. The results themselves approximate perceptions of the senate prior to election, perceptions of the role of the senator, and consideration of running for of-fice in the future.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska diplomová práca sa zaoberá participáciou v akademickom senáte z pohľadu členov študentskej komory. Cieľom práce je zistiť, ako študenti vnímajú svoju činnosť v Akademickom senáte Masarykovej univerzity. Teoretická časť práce popisuje možnosti študentskej participácie, približuje akademický senát a opisuje vnímanie senátu samotnými členmi. Empirická časť práce začína popisom metodoló-gie výskumného šetrenia a v závere predstavuje výsledky kvalitatívneho výskumu. Samotné výsledky približujú vnímanie senátu pred zvolením, vnímanie úlohy sená-tora a zvažovanie kandidatúry v budúcnosti.
