Adoption of Romany Children from the Perspective of Surrogate Parents

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá adopcí romských dětí z pohledu náhradních rodičů. Pro bližší seznámení s problematikou je v první kapitole popsána náhradní rodinná péče, její historie a formy se zaměřením na osvojení. Druhá kapitola přibližuje historické kořeny Romů, tradiční romské rodiny, diskriminaci a rasismus. Třetí kapitola je věnována problematice romského dítěte v nové rodině, se zaměřením na identitu dítěte. Empirická část shrnuje výsledky kvalitativního výzkumu zaměřeného na to, jak náhradní rodiče prožívali adopci, z jakých důvodů si dítě osvojili, jak na rodinu reagovalo okolí, jak nového člena rodiny přijali jeho noví sourozenci, jak probíhala adaptace dítěte v rodině, jaké problémy provázely výchovu dítěte, a jak náhradní rodiče dítěti vysvětlili, že nejsou jeho biologičtí rodiče. K realizaci šetření byl zvolen design případové studie, konkrétně mnohopřípadová studie, kde došlo k porovnání čtyř případů. Sběr dat byl proveden pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s jednotlivými respondenty.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the adoption of Roma children from the point of view of substitute parents. For a closer look at the issue, the first charter describes the substitute family care, its history and forms with a focus on adoption. The second charter describes the historici roots of Roma, the traditional Roma families, discrimination and racism. The third chapteris devoted to the issue of a Roma child in a new family, focusing on the identity of the child. The empirical part summarizes the results of a qualitative research focused on substitute parents went through adoptions, there a sons why Theky adopted the child, how surroun-dings was responded the family, how the new family member was adopted by thein new siblings, how the child was adapting to the family, how problems were manifest during the rating the child, and how substitute parents explained to the child, they are not thein biolo-gical parents. A case study design was chosen to carry out the survey, namely a multi-case study, where four cases were compared. Data collection was done through semi-structured interview with individual respondents.
