A Set of Tuition Exercises for the Dobot Robotic Arm for Secondary Schools

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo vytvoření laboratorních úloh pro robotická ramena Dobot Magician a Dobot Magician Lite. Tyto úlohy naučí žáky pracovat s roboty a jejich rozšiřujícími nástroji, jako je např. tužka, přísavka, laser, pásový dopravník nebo lineární pojezd. K použití v reálné výuce, ale nebyly vytvořeny pouze jednotlivé úlohy, nýbrž kompletní didaktické přípravy a postupy pro učitele, jenž zahrnují cíle hodiny, pomůcky, průběh hodiny a samozřejmě vypracované úlohy. Každá úloha je postupně obtížnější než ta předchozí a jejich řešení je ve formě jednoduchého tutoriálu i s vysvětlením zpracováno způsobem krok za krokem. Úlohy byly řešeny programováním založeném na platformě jazyku Scratch. Obsah těchto didaktických příprav byl zpracován v časovém rozmezí dvou vyučovacích hodin (2x45min.). V přípravách je také přesně stanoven plán aktivit pro žáky na první a druhé hodině, případně je čas a průběh aktivit přenechán na úsudek učitele. Je to zejména kvůli věku a rychlosti některých žáků, podle toho, na jakém typu škol by se tato práce a úlohy mohly použít. Součástí bylo také vypracování návrhu robotické učebny s již zmíněnými roboty. V návrhu byla učebna rozdělena na dvě části a v každé z nich operuje pouze jeden typ robota. Menší robot slouží k seznámení a prvním operacím, kdežto větší robotické rameno je použito na specializovaná stanoviště k vypracování laboratorních úloh.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the creation of teaching tasks for working with the Dobot robotic arms Dobot Magician and Dobot Magician Lite. These tasks are going to teach the students how to work with robots and different end-effectors they use. Among these effectors belongs tools like a pen, suction cup, laser, conveyor belt or linear rail. For use in real teaching, however, not only individual tasks were created, but complete didactic preparations and procedures for teachers, which include the objectives of the lesson, aids, the course of the lesson and, of course, the prepared and solved tasks. Each solution is more difficult than the previous one and it is processed step by step in the form of a simple tutorial with explanations. The tasks were solved by programming based on the Scratch language platform. The content of these didactic preparations was processed in the time span of two teaching hours (2 x 45 min.). The time plan of activities for the students in the first and second lessons is precisely determined, or the time and course of the activities is left to the judgment of the teacher. This is mainly due to the age and speed of some students, depending on the type of school, where this thesis could be used. Important part of this thesis was also to design a robotic classroom equipped with robotic arms earlier mentioned. The design separates classroom into two main areas. Each of this area contain only one type of robotic arm. The smaller robotic arm is used for introduction in robotics and first operations or manipulations while the bigger robotic arm is for laboratory tasks and activities at specialized workplaces.
