Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou televizních politických rozhovorů vybraných prezidentů Spojených států amerických. Práce zkoumá výskyt a užití zdvořilostních strategií těchto prezidentů, následně kvantifikuje a projednává o jejich charakteristických vzorcích. Teoretická část představuje témata související s charakteristikou politického rozhovoru jako žánru v kontextu politického diskurzu. Typologie strategií zdvožilosti je projednávána, a důraz je kladen na teorii P. Brownové a S. Levinsona, na jejímž základě jsou rozhovory analyzovány. Praktická část se zabývá analýzou vybraných rozhovorů tří prezidentů z hlediska rozsahu a preference strategií pozitivní a negativní zdvořilosti. Na tomto základě je možné vyvodit závěry o politickém rozhovoru a o podobnostech a odlišnostech ve stylu dotazovaných.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis reports on the analysis of a representative sample of televised political interviews of selected presidents of the United States of America. The paper examines the occurrence and usage of the politeness strategies of these presidents, quantifies them, and discusses their characteristic patterns. The theoretical part presents topics related to the characteristics of the political interview as a genre in the context of the political discourse. The typology of politeness strategies is discussed, and the focus is on the theory by P. Brown and S. Levinson, as the interviews are analyzed based on this theory. The practical part presents the analysis of selected interviews from the point of view of range and preference of strategies of positive and negative politeness. On this basis, it is possible to draw conclusions about political interviewing and about the similarities and differences in interviewees‘ styles.
