Mikuláš Schneider Trnavský's Symphony No. 1 in E minor "Reminiscent" in the Context of the Slovak Symphony Development and Its Interpretation from the Conductor's Point of View

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Symfonie e moll „Vzpomínková“ Mikuláše Schneidera-Trnavského v kontextu vývoje slovenské symfonie a její interpretace z pohledu dirigenta“ pojednává o jediné symfonii slovenského skladatele Mikuláše Schneidera-Trnavského. Úvodní kapitoly popisují vývoj slovenské hudby a symfonie v první polovině 20. století a život a symfonickou tvorbu M. Schneidera-Trnavského. Dále se práce zaměřuje na samotnou Symfonii e moll, okolnosti jejího vzniku a její význam pro vývoj slovenské symfonie v druhé polovině 20. století. Druhá část práce se pokouší o analýzu symfonie jako hudební formy, ale taky o analýzu interpretace každé věty symfonie z pohledu dirigenta.

Abstract:

Bachelor‘s thesis “Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský's Symphony No. 1 in E minor "Reminiscent" in the Context of the Slovak Symphony Development and Its Interpretation from the Conductor's Point of View” deals with the only symphony of Slovak composer Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský. The introductory chapters describe the development of the Slovak music and symphony in the first half of the 20th century, and life and symphonic work of M. Schneider-Trnavský. Furthermore, the work focuses on the Symphony in E minor itself, the background of its origin and its importance for the evolution of the Slovak symphony in the second half of the 20th century. The second part of the thesis tries to analyse its music form, as well as the interpretation aspects of each movement from the perspective of a conductor.
