Biomechanical parameters in the knee joint during anticipated and unexpected cutting manuever

Abstract:

Zranění předního zkříženého vazu patří k jednomu z nejčastějších příčin vyřazení z tréninkového procesu v profesionálním i amatérském sportu. Ve sportech jako je basketbal, fotbal, florbal nebo třeba házená hráči musí často využívat náhlé změny směru neboli cutting manévry, a právě během těchto pohybů bývá přední zkřížený vaz nejvíce namáhán. Cílem diplomové práce bylo zkoumat úhel kolenního kloubu (°) v sagitální rovině během počátečního kontaktu nohy se zemí (plošinou), dále maximální abdukční moment síly (N*m), který byl dosažen do 60 ms po počátečním kontaktu nohy se silovou plošinou. A v poslední řadě také přístupová rychlost, která byla definována horizontální rychlostí pánve při došlapu (m/s). Tyto proměnné se porovnávaly v závislosti na způsobu provedení cutting manévru.

Abstract:

Injuries to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) are among the most common causes of exclusion from the training process in both professional and amateur sports. Sports such as basketball, soccer, floorball, or handball often require players to utilize sudden changes in direction, known as cutting maneuvers, during which the ACL is particularly stressed. The aim of this thesis was to examine the angle of the knee joint (°) in the sagittal plane during the initial contact of the foot with the ground (platform), as well as the maximum abduction force moment (N*m), which was achieved within 60 ms after the initial contact of the foot with the force platform. Lastly, the approach speed was also measured, defined by the horizontal speed of the pelvis upon footstrike (m/s). These variables were compared based on the method of performing cutting maneuvers.
