Generalized Convex Functions

Abstract:

V této práci se budeme věnovat zkoumání tříd funkcí, které mají uplatnění v široké škále matematiky, například v optimalizaci. Je známo, že konvexní funkce jsou velmi silný nástroj a umožňují nám hledat jejich extrémy velmi elegantními způsoby. Je jen přirozené, že se snažíme najít i jiné třídy funkcí, které toto mohou splňovat, avšak nejsou konvexní. Čtenář se zde seznámí s dvěma třídami takových funkcí. Začneme s kvazikonvexními, které jsou, co se zobecnění týče, nejobsáhlejší třídou. Pak, přidáním diferencovatelnosti, se přesuneme k pseudokonvexním funkcím. Jako vsuvka je zde kapitola věnovaná se zobecněným lineárním funkcím, v našem případě to budou kvazilineární a pseudolineární. V závěru práce se podíváme, jak lze popsané třídy funkcí využít v optimalizaci.

Abstract:

In the present thesis ve study classes of functions, that have wide use in mathematics, for example in optimalization. It is known that convex functions are very strong tool and they allow us to find their extrems using very elegant ways. It is only natural, that we try to find other classes of functions, which satisfy those conditions, however they are not comvex. In this thesis the reader will meet two classes of such functions. We begin with the class of quasiconvex functions, which are the most generalized functions of convex functions. By adding the requirement to the function to be differentable, we move to pseudoconvex functions. As insertion is the following chapter dedicated to generalized linear functions, in our case quasiliner and pseudolinear. In the end of this thesis we will look into utilizing these classes of functions in optimalization.
