Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou chybové anotace žákovských korpusů, tj. korpusů sestávajících z textů psaných nerodilými mluvčími. Chybová anotace (tzv. značkování chyb) je využíváno v rámci počítačem podporované analýzy chyb, která představuje jeden z hlavních metodologických přístupů analýzy žákovských korpusů. Cílem této práce je prozkoumat teorii a praxi chybové anotace a navrhnout systém značkování chyb pro analýzu komunikativní kompetence pokročilých studentů angličtiny v psaném jazykovém projevu. Práce tedy nejprve vysvětluje povahu jazykových chyb nerodilých mluvčích v kontextu procesů tzv. žákovského mezijazyka (interlanguage) a popisuje cíle a postupy jak tradiční chybové analýzy, tak počítačem podporované analýzy chyb. Dále jsou popsány současně využívané systémy chybové anotace, zejména z nich nejužívanější Lovaňský systém (Louvain error tagging system). Práce pak předkládá navržený systém značkování chyb, který byl vyvinut restrukturalizací a rozšířením právě Lovaňského systému, a to na základě analýzy dalších užívaných anotačních systémů, souvisejících teoretických zdrojů a také autentických chyb obsažených v esejích studentů Katedry anglistiky a amerikanistiky.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with issues involved in error tagging, a specific type of learner corpus annotation that is employed within Computer-aided Error Analysis, one of the major methodologies of learner corpus research. The purpose of the work is to explore the theory and practice of such error annotation and propose an error tagging system that could be used to assess advanced students’ written communicative competence in English. To achieve these aims, the thesis first focuses on the nature of learner errors in the context of interlanguage processes and examines the procedures of traditional error analysis as well as Computer-aided Error Analysis. The current practices of error annotation are described next, including the most comprehensive and widely used error annotation scheme for English, the Louvain error tagging system. The work then proposes an error tagging system developed by restructuring and extending the Louvain system, drawing on the analysis of other currently used error annotation schemes, relevant theoretical sources as well as authentic learner errors contained in essays produced by students of the Department of English and American Studies.
