Hygienization of sewage sludge by the method of accelerated composting

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou hygienizace čistírenských kalů se zaměřením na metodu urychleného kompostování. Rešeršní část popisuje jednotlivé legislativní požadavky týkající se biologického zpracování a možného zhodnocení čistírenských kalů. Dále jsou charakterizovány metody a technologie hygienizace čistírenských kalů, včetně potenciálních rizik spojených s využitím kalů při kompostování. Náplní praktické části práce je ověřit technologii rychlého kompostování z hlediska hygienizace s maximálním povoleným množstvím kalu obsaženým v zakládce. Cílem je porovnat vybrané charakteristiky ČSN 465735 výstupních kompostů s komposty bez přídavku kalu pocházejících ze stejné technologie. Mezi vybrané charakteristiky patří fyzikálně-chemické a kvalitativní parametry, posouzení kompostu z hlediska fytotoxicity a ověření účinnosti hygienizace. Testované zařízení se dle výsledků prokázalo jako účinná technologie hygienizace čistírenského kalu a výstupní komposty byly shledány jako vyhovující pro aplikaci na zemědělskou půdu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of hygienization of sewage sludge with a focus on the method of accelerated composting. The research part describes the individual legislative requirements concerning biological processing and possible recovery of sewage sludge. Furthermore, methods and technologies of sewage sludge hygienization are characterized including potential risks associated with the use of sludge in composting. The content of the practical part of the work is to verify the technology of accelerated composting in terms of sanitation with the maximum allowed amount of sludge contained in the compost base. The aim is to compare selected characteristics of CSS 465735 output composts with composts without added sludge from the same technology. Selected characteristics include physical-chemical and qualitative parameters, assessment of compost in terms of phytotoxicity and verification of the effectiveness of hygienization. According to the results, the tested equipment proved to be an effective technology for the sanitation of sludge and the output composts were found to be suitable for application to agricultural land
