Parental care for a premature baby

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá psychikou rodičů u předčasného porodu a péčí o nedonošeného novorozence. Cíle práce spočívaly ve zjištění pocitů které, rodiče zažívali při oznámení předčasného ukončení těhotenství. Práce mapuje překážky z pohledu rodičů při manipulaci s dítětem a osoby které pomohly rodičům celé období zvládnout. Pro sběr těchto informací byl použit kvalitativní výzkum formou strukturovaného rozhovoru. Bylo osloveno 10 rodičovských párů, jejichž nedonošené dítě bylo hospitalizováno v Ústí nad Labem. Rodiče ve větší míře nepochybovali o zvládnutí své péče o nedonošeného novorozence. Většina rodičů uvádí, že jim byl oporou personál na jednotce intenzivní péče. Z kvalitativního výzkumu vyplývá že personál je významnou oporou pro rodiče těchto dětí. Kritickým bodem dle studie je kojení. Kdy devět respondentek z deseti odpovědělo, že se jim kojení nepodařilo. Účelem práce je zvýšit podvědomí o problematice předčasného porodu a poukázat na psychiku rodičů a její vliv na úspěšnost péče o nedonošence. Závěry ze studie jsou určené pro dotčené rodiče a odborný personál.

Abstract:

The work deals with the psyche of parents in premature birth and the care of premature newborns. The aims of the work were to find out the feelings that parents experienced when announcing premature termination of pregnancy. The work maps the obstacles from the parents' point of view in handling the child and the people who helped the parents to cope with the whole period. Qualitative research in the form of a structured interview was used to gather this information. 10 parent couples whose premature child was hospitalized in Ústí nad Labem were contacted. The parents did not have any doubts about the management of the premature newborn. Most parents state that they were supported by staff in the intensive care unit. It can be seen that the staff who take care of this type of parents do their job more than well. According to the study, breastfeeding is a critical point. When nine out of ten respondents answered that they had failed breastfeeding. The purpose of this work is to raise awareness of the issue of preterm birth and to point out the psyche of parents. The conclusions of the study are intended for the affected parents and professional staff.
