History of Registers as Public Books

Abstract:

Matriky byly původně církevní administrativou, kterou v 18. století začal využívat pro evidenci osob i stát. V té době docházelo na našem území k vzájemné závislosti mezi údaji uváděnými do matričních knih pro potřebu církve a údaji, které vyžadovala státní moc. K úplnému převzetí správy matrik státní mocí došlo až v 50. letech 20. století, což vedlo k jejich sjednocení a modernizaci, jež probíhá dodnes. Práce tedy pojedná o matrikách jako evidenci, která obsahuje časové údaje týkající se základních životních událostí jednotlivých osob, tj. narození, sňatků a úmrtí. Vlastní práce začíná historickým vývojem matričního zápisu, který je dále členěn do několika časových úseků. Další část obsahu práce pojednává o židovských matrikách, matrikách ostatních státem uznaných církví, vojenských matrikách a nakonec o archivaci a digitalizaci matrik. Hlavním cílem mé diplomové práce je poskytnout čtenáři komplexní historický průřez vývojem vedení matričních knih a právní úpravy, která tuto agendu formovala až do současnosti.

Abstract:

Registers were originally ecclesiastical administration, which in the 18th century began to use the state for the records of people. At that time on our territory there was the interdependence between the data reported to the registry books of the church and the data that required state power. The complete takeover of registers by the State occurred in the fifties of the 20th century, which led to the unification and modernization, which takes place today. The thesis thus represents those registers containing the time information related to the basic life events of individuals, ie births, marriages and deaths. The work begins with the historical development of the registry entry, which is further divided into several time periods. Next part of the work deals with the Jewish register offices, register offices of other state recognized by churches, military registers, and finally archiving and digitization of registers. The main aim of my thesis is to provide the reader with a comprehensive history of the development of register books management and legislation that shaped this agenda until the present.
