Dickens' London

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je prědstavit historický Londýn 19.století ve spojení s nejvýznamnějšími díly Charlese Dickense tak, jak jej samotný autor popisuje ve svých románech. Tato práce by měla pomoci studentům středních škol či veřejnosti lépe pochopit a porozumět životu v Anglii, především však v Londýně tohoto století. Forma e-learningového kurzu byla vybrána proto, aby co možná nejvíce podpořila zájem studentů. Tento kurz by měl také pomoci učitelům lépe se připravit na hodiny anglické literatury a reálií. Informace o Lontýně 19. století jsou čerpány z knihy Michaela Patersona – Voices from Dickens' London. E-lerningový kurz je rozdělen do deseti kapitol, ale pro potřeby této bakalářské práce byly vybrány pouze dvě úvodní kapitoly.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to present historical London of the 19th century in connection with the most significant works written by Charles Dickens, in the way this city is reflected in his novels. This work should help secondary school students - or the general public - better understand British life and institutions, mainly with the focus on thoughts of the London of this century. The form of e-learning course was chosen to catch students' interest. This course should also help teachers with their lesson preparations on English literature and/or on life and institutions. Information on the 19th century London is based on Michael Paterson's book entitled Voices from Dickens' London. This e-learning course is divided into ten chapters and each chapter contains a passage for teachers of English and a passage for secondary school students. For needs of this bachelor's thesis, the first two chapters were chosen.
