Eye as a biometric identifier

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o možnostech využití lidského oka jako prostředku osobní identifikace. Nejprve je vysvětlena obecná problematika biometrie a biometrická autentizace. Kapitola je doplněna krátkou pasáží zabývající se uplatněním biometrie v lékařské diagnostice. Následuje popis anatomické stavby těch částí oka, které je možné analyzovat za účelem biometrické autentizace. Dále jsou rozebrány metody oční biometrické autentizace. Nakonec jsou uvedeny příklady současné aplikace technologie a potenciální vyhlídky do budoucnosti.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis addresses the possibilities of using the eye as means of personal identification. First, biometrics in general and biometrical authentication are explained. The chapter is complemented by a short text about the use of biometrics in medical diagnosis. In following chapter, eye structures, that can be analysed for biometric authentication, are anatomically described. Subsequent chapter deals with methods of ocular biometric authentication. Finally, examples of current applications and possible future perspectives are listed.
