The competitiveness of Italy in the world textile industry

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je zmapování vývoje světového textilního průmyslu mezi léty 2000 a 2017. Pro lepší pochopení tématu první část práce se věnuje historii odvětví, přibližuje specifika a charakter textilního průmyslu. Krátce budou rozebrána základní textilní vlákna a jejich aktuální podíl na celkové světové spotřebě textilních vláken. Druhá část se zaměří na textilní průmysl v mezinárodním obchodě, a to z pohledu mezinárodních dohod týkajících se textilního průmyslu. Dále budou analyzovány hodnoty exportu a podílu textilního průmyslu na celkovém světovém obchodě se zbožím ve zkoumaných letech. Práce poskytne informace o největších producentech textilních vláken a vývozcích textilu. V poslední části bude věnována zvláštní pozornost konkurenceschopnosti textilního průmyslu v Itálii jako jedné z předních zemí orientujících se na výrobě textilií. Výzkum bude proveden z pohledu ekonomických ukazatelů a struktury odvětví. Bude zkoumáno postavení italského textilního průmyslu v globálním kontextu a bude analyzován budoucí vývoj země v konkurenčním prostředí.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to map the development of the world textile industry between 2000 and 2017. The first part of the thesis, which is essential for understanding the next chapters, is devoted to the history of the industry, explanation the specifics and character of the textile industry. Basic textile fibers and their current share in the total world consumption of textile fibers will be briefly discussed. The second part focuses on the textile industry in international trade from the perspective of international agreements concerning the textile industry. Furthermore, the export values and the share of the textile industry in the world merchandise trade will be analyzed. Thesis provides information on the largest producers of textile fibers and textile exporters. In the last part of the thesis, special attention will be paid to the competitiveness of the textile industry in Italy, as one of the leading countries focused on the production of textiles. The research will be conducted from the perspective of economic indicators and the structure of the industry. The position of the Italian textile industry in the global context will be examined and the future development of the country in a competitive environment will be analyzed.
