The care burden of family members of people with Alzheimer

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem kvantitativního šetření bylo zjistit míru zátěže neformálních pečujících o nemocné s Alzheimerovou chorobou. Byly hodnoceny vztahy mezi mírou zátěže a soběstačnosti a sociodemografickými aspekty (věk a pohlaví nemocného, věk a pohlaví pečovatele, vztah pečovatele k nemocnému, délka pečování o nemocného). Metodika: Pro popis dat byla použita popisná statistika (průměr, medián, směrodatná odchylka, frekvenční tabulky s absolutními a relativními počty). Závislost mezi zátěží pečovatele a soběstačností pacienta byla hodnocena Spearmanovým korelačním koeficientem. Pro testování vztahu zátěže pečovatele a soběstačnosti, MMSE a demografických ukazatelů - věk, pohlaví a dále vztahu pečovatele a pacienta byl v závislosti na typu proměnných použit neparametrický Wilcoxonův a Kruskal-Wallisův test a test trendu pro ordinální znaky. Statistické testy byly hodnoceny na hladině významnosti 5 %. Zpracování bylo provedeno programem Stata v. 13. Výsledky byly zpracovány ve formě tabulek v MS Excelu. Výsledky: Soubor zkoumaných pečovatelů tvořilo celkem 119 respondentů (90 žen, 29 mužů) mezi nimiž byla nejpočetnější věková kategorie nad 70 let. Nejvíce pečovatelů poskytovalo péči 24 ? 36 měsíců. 59 pečovatelů bylo z řad manželů a manželek. Výsledky výzkumu umožní identifikovat míru zátěže pečovatelů. Tyto závěry mohou posloužit jako vodítko pro pečující osoby v domácím prostředí nemocného, a tak přispět k lepší individualizované péči. Závěr: Test hodnocení pečovatelské zátěže pro rodinné pečující patří k jednomu z nejpoužívanějších nástrojů k posouzení míry zátěže rodinných pečujících. Nástroj hodnotí vztah pečovatele a osoby o kterou je pečováno, hodnotí zdravotní a psychický stav pečujícího, finanční situaci a společenský život pečovatele. A dotazník soběstačnosti Dissability Assessment for Dementia, (DAD-CZ), hodnotí aktivity denního života a poskytuje tak důležité informace o soběstačnosti nemocného. Výsledky výzkumu umožní identifikovat míru zátěže pečovatelů. Tyto závěry mohou posloužit jako vodítko pro pečující osoby v domácím prostředí nemocného, a tak přispět k lepší individualizované péči.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the quantitative survay was to ascertain the extent of the burden of informal caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease. There were assessed the relationship between levels of stress and self-reliance and socio-demographic aspects (age and sex of the patient, age and gender of the caregiver, caregiver relationship to the patient, the interval of the care). Methods: The description of the data used descriptive statistics (mean, median, standard deviation , frequency tables with absolute and relative numbers). A relationship between caregiver burden and self-sufficiency patient was evaluated by Spearman's correlation coefficient. To test the relative caregiver burden and self-sufficiency , MMSE and demographic indicators - age, gender and relative caregiver and patient, depending on the type of variables used nonparametric Wilcoxon and Kruskal -Wallis test and the trend test for ordinal characters. Statistical tests were evaluated at the significance level of 5%. Processing was done by Stata v. 13. Results were presened inhe form of tables in MS Excel. Results: The cohort consisted of caregivers surveyed 119 respondents ( 90 women, 29 men ) among which was the largest age group of over 70 years. Most caregivers provide care for 24 to 36 months. 59 caregivers were among husbands and wives. The research results allow to identify the degree of burden caregivers. These findings can serve as a guide for caregivers in the home of the patient, thus contributing to a better individualized care. Conclusion: Test Ratings care burden of family caregivers is one of the most used tools to assess levels of stress of family caregivers. The tool assesses the relationship of the caregiver and the person being cared for, evaluating health and mental state of a caring, financial situation and social life of the caregiver. A questionnaire - sufficiency Dissability Assessment for Dementia, (DAD-CZ), evaluates the activities of daily living and provides important informations about the patient's self-sufficiency . The research results allow to identify the degree of burden caregivers. These findings can serve as a guide for caregivers in the home of the patient, this contributing to a better individualized care.
