Implementation of internal audit in hotel

Abstract:

Jako cíl své práce jsem si zvolil obecně definovat cíle a přínosy interního auditu, zhodnotit realizaci interního auditu ve vybraných pražských hotelech určené velikosti, zjistit bariéry a následně poskytnout návod, jakým způsobem je možné implementovat interní audit v kterémkoliv hotelu. Pro analýzu jsem si vybral vzorek 30 pražských hotelů, ve čtyř a pěti hvězdičkové třídě. Vzhledem k cílům a charteru analýzy jsem si jako analytické metody zvolil osobní rozhovory, dotazník a studium interních dokumentů. Výsledky analýzy potvrdily moji hypotézu a označili za největší bariéry implementace systému interního auditu příliš malou velikost hotelu a vysoké náklady na implementaci. Během analýzy jsem také zjistil, že hotelový manažeři mají minimální podvědomí o technikách a přínosech interního auditu. Navrhl jsem dvě řešení implementace interního auditu pro samostatné hotely a jedno řešení pro hotelové řetězce. Součástí mého návrhu byla i implementaci mezinárodních profesních standardů interního auditu do oblasti hotelnictví.

Abstract:

In this dissertation, I will try to confirm their analysis of the hypothesis of a minimal using of an internal audit in Prague hotels. As the objective of this work I have chosen to define the general objectives and benefits of internal audit to assess the implementation of internal audit in selected hotels in Prague specified size, determine barriers and subsequently provide guidance on how to implement an internal audit at any hotel.For the analysis I chose a sample of 30 hotels in Prague, in four and five star class. Given the objectives and charter analysis, I like the analytical method chosen personal interviews, questionnaires and review of internal documents. The analysis results confirmed my hypothesis and declared it the biggest barriers to the implementation of the internal audit system size too small at a high cost of implementation. During the analysis, I also found that hotel managers have little awareness of the techniques and benefits of internal audit. I suggested two solutions to the implementation of internal audit for independent hotels and one solution for hotel chains. Part of my project was the implementation of international professional standards of internal auditing in the hotel industry.
