Czech Mountaineering

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce bylo České vysokohorské lezení. Na začátku práce jsem vymezil pojmy horolezectví a velehory, coby klíčová slova pro celou práci. Dále se krátce zmínil o prvotních horolezeckých pokusech na území Evropy a zlezení Mont Blancu. V další části práce už jsem se plně věnoval ranému horolezeckému vývoji od založení Českého odboru Slovinského planinného družstva v roce 1897 až do konce první světové války. Po níž vznikl samostatný Československý stát a horolezecké dění se začalo ubírat poněkud jinými směry. V roce 1924 byl založen Klub alpistů Československých a úroveň našeho horolezectví začala pomalu růst. Slibný vývoj přerušila druhá světová válka a další ranou pro naše horolezce byl vznik „železné opony“ jen pár let po ní, která jim znemožňovala vstup do alpských terénů. Proto naše úspěšné expedice odjížděly na území tehdejšího Sovětského svazu, kde zlezly spoustu cest na území Kavkazu. Úroveň našeho horolezectví postupně rostla a prvním naším horolezcem patřící mezi evropskou špičku se stal Radovan Kuchař. Vyvrcholením horolezeckých snů tehdejší generace se stal rok 1969, kdy se uskutečnily první dvě himálajské expedice, z nichž ta česká zaznamenala úspěch na Annapúrně IV (7 552 m. n. m.) Na vrcholovou úroveň se naše horolezectví dostalo v roce 1971, kdy se podařilo prvním Čechoslovákům stanout na vrcholu osmitisícovky (Nanga Parbat). Po tomto prvním úspěchu začaly pomalu přicházet další úspěchy, které vyvrcholily ve zlezení Mount Everestu, Slováky v roce 1984 a prvním Čechem v roce 1991. V závěrečné fázi práce jsem se věnoval zvučným osobnostem českého horolezectví a jejich výstupům a někdy také základním životním faktům a rodinnému stavu. Při výstupech striktně vždy uvádím i jména spolulezců a v případě Marka Holečka i klasifikaci jím zlezených cest. V této kapitole uvádím nejdříve mužské osobnosti, následně ženské osobnosti a celá práce je zakončena statí o Radku Jarošovi.

Abstract:

The topic of the thesis is Czech mountaineering. At the beginning I have defined the terms mountaineering and mountains as the key words for the whole thesis. Then I briefly mentioned first climbing attempts in Europe and ascent of Mt. Blanc. Next part of the thesis is dedicated to the early evolution of mountaineering from the foundation of Czech department of the Slovenian Alpine Club in 1897 until the end of WW1. Then there was established the independent Czechoslovakian state and the mountaineering started to head into different directions. In 1924 the Club of Czechoslovakian climbers was founded and the level of our mountaineering started to rise slowly. The good prospect was interrupted by the WW2 and then again by the formation of the „Iron curtain“ only couple of years later which disabled entering the alpine terrain for the climbers. Thus our successful expeditions were heading to the former Soviet Union where they ascended many trails in Kavkaz. The level of our mountaineering was growing and our first climber among the European top climbers was Radovan Kuchař. The mountaineering dreams of that generation came true in 1969 when there were 2 Himalayan expeditions carried out - the Czech one to Annapurna IV (7 552 m) was successful. Top level of mountaineering was reached in 1971 when the first Czechoslovaks climbed the eight-thousander (Nanga Parbat). Since then more successes have been achieved with the most acclaimed one being the ascent of Mt. Everest by Slovaks in 1984 and by the first Czech in 1991. I dedicated the final part of the thesis to famous Czech climbers and their ascents. Sometimes I added basic facts about their lives and families. I strictly mentioned the co-climbers names as well and with M. Holecek also the classification of his ascents. I firstly stated the male climbers in this chapter followed by female climbers and the whole thesis is closed by section about R. Jaros.
