The capacity growth of container ships with emphasis on chosen sea lines and ports

Abstract:

Kapacita celokontejnerových lodí roste od počátku procesu kontejnerizace. V roce 2017 se zprovoznily první lodě s kapacitou přes 20 000 TEU. Tento proces výrazně zasahuje nejen do fungování námořní dopravy, ale současně i celého logistického řetězce. Cílem této diplomové práce je ukázat vliv vývoje obřích celokontejnerových lodí (ULCV) na hlavní námořní trasy a návaznou vnitrozemskou dopravu na vybrané námořní relace a námořní přístavy.

Abstract:

The capacity of container ships is growing since the beginning of containerization. The first ever ships with capacity exceeding 20 000 TEU were used in the year 2017. This process significantly influences the structure of sea transport and also of the whole logistic chain. The goal of this master's thesis is to show the impact of Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCV) on the main sea lines and following hinterground transport on the example of chosen lines and sea ports.
