Using the principles of Thai massages for back pain in selected functional changes of the locomotive apparatus.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o bolestech zad v lumbosakrální oblasti na podkladě funkčních změn. Pro tuto, v dnešní době běžnou, problematiku byla zvolena alternativní metoda pocházející z jihovýchodní Asie, kde je zcela běžnou, thajská masáž. Teoretická část se zaobírá seznámením se s pojmy thajská masáž, jejím historickým původem, vývojem, náboženskými vlivy a základními principy této metody. Dále popisuje problematiku bolestí zad a vertebrogenní funkční poruchy jako jednu z nejběžnějších příčin vedoucí pacienta na rehabilitace. Pozorovaní byli tři probandi, kteří trpěli bolestí zad v oblasti beder na podkladě funkčních změn. Podstoupili ošetření dle principů tradiční thajské masáže, které jim byly poskytovány jednou týdně po dobu jednoho měsíce. Sledovali jsme intenzitu bolesti, stupeň reflexních změn, svalového napětí a zlepšení funkce sakroiliakálního kloubu. Z výsledků vyplynulo, že díky terapii došlo k téměř odstranění bolestivých stavů, mírnému snížení svalového tonu avšak masáž nikoliv významně nemá vliv na funkci SI skloubení.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with low back pain in the lumbosacral area on the basis of functional changes. An alternative method, coming from Southeast Asia, where Thai massage is quite common, has been chosen for this common problem. Theoretical part inquires into familiarization with terms such as Thai massage and its historical origin, evolution, religious influence and basic principles of this method. Further describes issues related to low back pain and vertebrogenic functional disorder as one of the most common causes leading to the patient's rehabilitation. The subject of observation was a group of three people who suffered from pain in the lower back on the basis of the functional changes. All of them underwent a treatment according to traditional Thai massage principals when a massage was provided to them once a week for the duration of one month. The pain intensity, the degree of reflex changes, muscle tension and function improvement of the sacroiliac joint were observed. The results showed that painful conditions were almost eliminated due to the therapy, also the muscle tone was slightly decreased, however, no significant influence on the function of sacroiliac joint was noticed in relation to massages.
