Diversification of the agriculture activities in the countryside, for example region of Piešťany

Abstract:

This master’s thesis is dedicated to the diversification of agricultural activities, specifically using the example of the Piešťany district. Significant attention is also paid to the Common Agricultural Policy, which notably affects the development of agriculture, and thus its diversification. Its importance and the changes that occurred after the entry of the Slovak republic into the European Union were evaluated. In the introduction is a part devoted to the characteristics of agricultural diversification, its divisions and influence on rural development. The work also analyzes the Rural Development Program, which is part of the Common Agricultural Policy. Subsequently, the district of Piešťany was characterized from the perspective of physical-geographic and socio-economic conditions affecting the agricultural sector. The practical part addresses the issue of diversification in the district of Piešťany, where a questionnaire survey targeting agricultural enterprises and independent farmers was conducted. The result was an evaluation of the level of diversification and the possibility of further agricultural development in the district of Piešťany from the point of view of the Common Agricultural Policy and farm diversification.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca je venovaná diverzifikácii poľnohospodárskych činností, konkrétne na príklade okresu Piešťany. Veľká pozornosť je kladená aj Spoločnej poľnohospodárskej politike, ktorá vo veľkej miere ovplyvňuje vývoj poľnohospodárstva, a tým aj jeho diverzifikácie. Hodnotený bol jej význam a zmeny, ktoré nastali po vstupe Slovenskej republiky do Európskej únie. V úvode práce časť venovaná charakteristike poľnohospodárskej diverzifikácie, jej delení a vplyvu na rozvoj vidieka. V práci bol analyzovaný aj Program rozvoja vidieka, ktorý je súčasťou Spoločnej poľnohospodárskej politiky. Následne bol charakterizovaný okres Piešťany z pohľadu fyzicko-geografických a socioekonomických podmienok ovplyvňujúcich agrárny sektor. V praktickej časti bola riešená problematika diverzifikácie v okrese Piešťany, kde bol vykonaný dotazníkový prieskum, ktorý cielil na poľnohospodárske podniky a samostatne hospodáriacich roľníkov. Výsledkom bolo zhodnotenie úroveň diverzifikácie a možnosti ďalšieho rozvoja poľnohospodárstva v okrese Piešťany z pohľadu Spoločnej poľnohospodárskej politiky a diverzifikácie poľnohospodárstva.
