Radioactive accessory minerals in ultrapotassic rocks

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá studiem radioaktivních akcesorických fází z jihlavského plutonu. Akcesorické minerály jsou důležitým faktorem při řešení petrogenetických otázek a mohou přispět k pozorumění vzniku a vývoje magmatu. Předmětem práce byly akcesorie zirkon, monazit, allanit, thorit a apatit. Cílem bylo rozlišení tvaru zrn, jejich vzájemných texturních vztahů a chemického složení s největší pozorností věnovánou radioaktivním prvkům U a Th a prvkům vzácných zemin. Akcesorie byly studovány pomocí optické mikroskopie a elektronové mikrosondy, která umožňuje jak studium v odražených elektronech, odhalující zonalitu minerálů, tak určení chemického složení minerálů. Dále bylo snahou interpretovat zjištěné vztahy a chemismus fází z hlediska vývoje a geneze magmatu. V práci jsou vysloveny dvě hypotézy možného vývoje magmatu. Jedná se o interakci magmat s odlišným složením nebo účinek postmagmatických či pozdních metamorfních fluid během vývoje magmatu. V hornině se vyskytují prokazatelně magmatické fáze s chemicky rozlišenou zonálností i novotvořené minerální fáze v asociaci nejčastěji s apatitem. Studiem zonálních a nezonálních částí zrn pozorovaných v BSE bylo chemicky charakterizováno prostředí, ve kterém akcesorie krystalizují. Na základě výsledků byl rozlišen možný typ magmatu a konfrontací výsledků s literaturou interpretován a navržen možný vývoj magmatu. V závěru práce jsou výsledky jihlavského plutonu z hlediska akcesorií porovnávány s akcesorickými minerály třebíčského plutonu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the study of radioactive accessory phases of the jihlava pluton. Accessory minerals are an important factor in resolving issues petrogenetic questions and may contribute to understanding of the formation and evolution of magma. The thesis deals with accessory minerals zircon, monazite, allanite, thorite and apatite. The aim was to distinguish the shape of the grains, their mutual relations, textural and chemical composition with the greatest attention is paid to radioactive elements U and Th and rare earth elements. Accessory minerals were studied using optical microscopy and electron microprobe, which allows to study the backscattered electrons, revealing the zoning of minerals and determination of the chemical composition of minerals. Furthermore, efforts were made to interpret the observed relationships and chemistry of phases in terms of development and magma genesis. In this work, two hypotheses are expressed possible development of magma. It is the interaction of magmas with different composition or effect postmagmatic or late metamorphic fluids during the development of magma. In the rock occurs demonstrably magmatic phases the chemically differentiated zoning and newly formed mineral phases in the most association with apatite. Studying zoning and unzoning parts grains observed in the BSE was chemically characterized the environment in which accessory minerals crystallize. Based on the results was made out possible type of magma and confrontation with literature results interpreted possible evolution of magma. In the end of the work, the results of the Jihlava pluton in terms of accessory minerals are compared with accesory minerals třebíč pluton.
