System for stereo reconstruction of transparent objects using active lighting

Abstract:

V tejto práci je vyvinutý systém pre stereo rekonštrukciu priehľadných objektov pomocou aktívneho osvetlenia. Systém obsahuje všetky kroky potrebné pre úspešnú rekonštrukciu: kalibráciu kamier, kalibráciu svetiel, detekciu pozadia a tvorbu modelov. Veľký dôraz je kladený na výpočet polôh osvetlených miest v obrázkoch s ohľadom na priehľadnosť použitých objektov. Systém môže byť tiež použitý na porovnanie vypočítaných modelov. Kvalita vypočítaných modelov je vyhodnotená pomocou reálnych objektov.

Abstract:

In this thesis a system for the stereo reconstruction of transparent objects using active lighting is developed. The system contains all the steps required for a successful reconstruction: the camera calibration, the lighting calibration, the background detection, and the model creation. Great emphasis is placed on the computation of image locations of illuminated spots with the respect to the transparent nature of used objects. The system can also be used to compare the computed models. The quality of created models is analyzed using real objects.
