Sustainability management in the selected company

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Management udržitelnosti ve vybraném podniku má za úkol utvořit návrh strategie udržitelnosti pro vybraný podnik na základě analýzy současného stavu udržitelnosti vybraného podniku a příbuzných subjektů a následné komparace. Teoretická část se zabývá literární rešerší rozsáhlé oblasti problematiky managementu udržitelnosti. Autor se zaobírá definicemi pojmů souvisejících s udržitelností. Následně zmiňuje tři základní pilíře udržitelnosti a s nimi úzce spojenou metodiku ESG. Dále je charakterizován koncept společenské odpovědnosti firem v souvislosti s podnikatelským prostředím, společně s cíli udržitelného rozvoje a oběhovým hospodářstvím. Teoretická část je zakončena souvisejícími pojmy, které jsou blíže autorem specifikovány. Po teoretické části následuje část metodická, která popisuje metodiku zvolenou pro realizaci výzkumu v rámci praktické části. Autor uvádí předpoklady pro provedení komparace s příbuznými subjekty a detailně popisuje postup zvolené výzkumné metody včetně jejích omezení. Praktická část diplomové práce analyzuje současný stav v rámci udržitelnosti u vybrané společnosti a příbuzných subjektů, které jsou považovány za lídry v této oblasti s alespoň částečným zaměřením na dentální hygienu. Přístupy společností k udržitelnosti jsou vzájemně komparovány pomocí metody vícekriteriálního párového porovnávání a na základě výsledků z hodnocení je utvořen návrh strategie udržitelnosti pro vybraný podnik.

Abstract:

The master thesis entitled Sustainability management in selected company has the task to form a proposal of a sustainability strategy for a selected company based on the analysis of the current state of sustainability of the selected company and related entities and subsequent comparison. The theoretical part deals with a literature search of the vast field of sustainability management. The author discusses the definitions of sustainability related terms. He then mentions the three basic pillars of sustainability and the closely related ESG methodology. The concept of corporate social responsibility in the context of the business environment is then characterised, together with the Sustainable Development Goals and the circular economy. The theoretical part is concluded with related terms, which are specified in more detail by the author. The theoretical part is followed by the methodological part, which describes the methodology chosen for the implementation of the research in the practical part. The author presents the assumptions for making comparisons with related subjects and describes in detail the procedure of the chosen research method including its limitations. The practical part of the thesis analyses the current state of sustainability in the selected company and related entities that are considered leaders in this field with at least a partial focus on dental hygiene. The companies' approaches to sustainability are compared to each other using a multi-criteria pairwise comparison method and a proposal for a sustainability strategy for the selected company is formed based on the results from the evaluation.
