Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na zhodnocení a porovnání ekonomiky chovatelských stanic psů různých plemen. V teoretické části jsou zmíněny podmínky pro kontrolovaný chov psů, popsaná jednotlivá plemena, na které se výzkum zaměřuje a také vymezení legislativních a ekonomických aspektů souvisejících s touto tématikou. Vlastní práce zhodnocuje ekonomickou situaci určitých chovatelských stanic za celou dobu jejich působení, obsahuje propočítání nákladů na jedno štěně, zjišťování poptávky po psech s průkazem původu a nároků zájemců na chovatele a porovnání ekonomické náročnosti jednotlivých plemen mezi sebou. Každá ze sledovaných chovatelských stanic v současné době vykazuje velkou ztrátu. Tento propad by se dal zmírnit zvýšením produkce štěňat, zvýšením prodejní ceny štěňat a omezením nákladů, které pro chov daného plemene nejsou vyloženě nutné. Tím by ovšem mohla klesnout atraktivita dané chovatelské stanice a současně i zájem o štěňata. Téměř polovina z celkové poptávky po psech je poptávka po psech s průkazem původu. Zájemci chtějí štěně po rodičích s nadstandartními zdravotními testy a s úspěchy na výstavách nebo v různých psích sportech. V současné době poptávka po psech prudce stoupla a chovatelské stanice nejsou schopny uspokojit všechny zájemce. Tím rostou i ceny štěňat. Z posuzovaných plemen je ekonomicky nejvýhodnější chov australského ovčáka.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on evaluating and comparing the economy of dog kennel with different kinds of dog breeds. In the theoretical part the author analyses the conditions for the monitoring of the breeding of dogs, describes the individual breeds throughout the research, as well as defines legislative and economic aspects pertaining to this topic. This thesis assesses the economic situation of breeding stations during the entire time of their operation. It also includes cost calculations per puppy, analysis of the demand for dogs with pedigree certificates, requirements potential buyers might have for breeders as well as comparison of economics of individual breeds. All of the observing breeding stations currently report substantial losses. The reported losses could be potentially decreased by a higher number of puppies being born, by increasing the price per puppy or cutting unnecessary fixed costs related to their breeding. However, on the contrary, it is possible that these adjustments could also result in lower interest in the given breeding station and consequently lower demand for puppies. The demand for dogs with a pedigree certificate accounts for almost half of the total demand. Potential buyers are mainly looking for puppies which went through above standard health assessments, or whose parents have been in exhibitions or whose parents have excelled in dog competitions. In recent years, the demand for dogs has sharply increased, which has resulted in breeding stations having difficulties meeting buyer demand. As a consequence of this, the price per puppy has also increased. From all the breeds analysed, Australian Shepherd seems to be the most economical breed.
