The function of interest rates of the central bank and the interest rates of the interbank market

Abstract:

Téma mé bakalářské práce je „K funkcí úrokových sazeb centrální banky a úrokových sazeb mezibankovního trhu“. Hlavním cílem práce je popsat nejdůležitější funkce těchto sazeb. Práce jsem rozdělil do čtyř časti. V první kapitole jsem definoval pojem úroku a jeho historický vznik. Dále jsem se zabýval úrokovou mírou, lichvou a popsal jsem několik teorií úrokové míry. Druhá kapitola je věnována úrokovým instrumentům centrální banky. Pokusil jsem se podrobně popsat všechny úrokové nástroje, které v dnešní době centrální banky používají pro ovlivňování měnové politiky. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na definice univerzální banky, na popis její pasivních a aktivních úročených produktů. Dále já rozebírám obchody na mezibankovním trhu a popisuju nejznačnější úrokové nástroje: FRA, swapy a úrokové opce. V závěru práci se zaměřuji na hledání závislosti mezi repo sazbou centrální banky a úrokových sazeb mezibankovního trhu. Lze tedy říci, že můj předpoklad vzájemné provázanosti úrokových sazeb se potvrdil.

Abstract:

The theme of my bachelors’ work is “The function of interest rates of the central bank and the interest rates of the interbank market”. The main aim of my work is to describe the most important functions of these rates. I’ve divided my work into four pieces. In the first chapter I provided the definition of interest rate and its historical evolution. The second chapter is about interest instruments which central banks are using. In the third part I’ve tried to describe the universal banks, its products. Also I’m writing about most sufficient interest derivates: FRA, swaps, interest options. During my fourth part I’m trying to find some relevations between interest rates of central banks and interbank market. In the end I can say, that I’ve accomplished the goal of my bachelors’ work.
