Facies and gamma-ray spectrometry of Peruc-Korycany Formation, Bohemian Cretaceous Basin, at selected outcrops.

Abstract:

V předložené bakalářské práci jsou zdokumentovány 2 lokality klastických sedimentů České křídové pánve v období cenomanu a turonu, Obora-Malý Chlum a Hostibejk. Na každé lokalitě byl zaměřen vertikální profil s podrobnou dokumentací klastických facií a provedeno terénní měření gamaspektrometrie. V laboratoři byly provedeny zrnitostní analýzy, mikroskopické studium výbrusů a orientační analýzy celkového organického uhlíku (TOC). Výsledkem získaných dat bylo zjištění, jak se na gamaspektrometrických křivkách projevuje faciální variabilita (zrnitost, obsah jílů, obsah organické hmoty, modální složení psamitické frakce). Cílem práce bylo provést stratigrafickou korelaci mezi zájmovými lokalitami, popřípadě korelace s karotážními daty hloubkových vrtů. Gamaspektrometrické křivky obou těchto profilů umožňují provedení korelace na vzdálenost více než 200 km.

Abstract:

Two localities of clastic sediments of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin, of Cenomanian to Turonian age, were described in this thesis: Obora – Malý Chlum and Hostibejk. A vertical profile with detailed documentation of clastic facies and field gamma-ray spectra were measured at each locality. In the laboratory, grain size analyses, microscopic study of thin sections and pilot analyses of total organic carbon (TOC) were performed. The obtained results show the dependence of gamma-ray curves on facies variation (grain size, clay content, organic carbon content and modal composition of sandy fraction). The aim of the study was stratigraphic correlation between the studied sites and correlation with gamma-ray logs from boreholes. Gamaspectrometric curves for both of these profiles allow execution correlation at a distance of more than 200 km.
