Physical principles of transmission media in computer networks

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá základními fyzikálními principy přenosových médií. V teoretické části jsou popsány jednotlivé typy přenosových médií. Následuje popis nejčastěji používaných metod kódování signálu. Poslední kapitola teoretické části se zabývá vlastnostmi jednotlivých přenosových médií. Tyto vlastnosti jsou popsány zejména z pohledu informatiky. V praktické části jsou porovnány 2 měřicí přístroje, které slouží k testování přenosových médií. Na závěr je provedeno shrnutí, které udává zejména možnosti použití obou přístrojů.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with basic physical principles of transmission media. In the theoretical part are described different types of transmission media. The following is a description of the most commonly used methods of signal encoding. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the individual transmission media. These characteristics are described mainly in view of informatics. In the practical part are compared two measuring devices that are used to test the transmission media. Finally is made a summary, which shows mainly the possibility of using both of the devices.
