The influence of gender-homogeneous environment for labor relations

Abstract:

Předmětem mé práce je zmapování vlivu genderově homogenních kolektivů, a to jak ženských, tak mužských, na formování pracovních vztahů a pracovního prostředí všeobecně. V teoretické části se zaměřuji na tři hlavní témata: Muži a ženy ve společnosti, Vliv genderu na organizaci a Gender a trh práce. Praktická část je založena na výsledcích mých dvou výzkumů, jeden byl prováděn v převážně ženském pracovním kolektivu a druhý v převážně mužském pracovním kolektivu. Ve své práci jsem odhalila, že se realita oproti teorii v některých oblastech liší, a to zejména v pozitivním smyslu. Pomalu vytrácí trend, kdy ženy po návratu z mateřské dovolené byli tímto faktem znevýhodněny. Byl také vyvrácen předpoklad, že muži jsou jako nadřízení více preferováni, než ženy. Ženy v manažerských pozicích jsou schopny obstát a zastávat je stejně kvalitně, jako muži. Nepotvrdilo se také že by ženy byly při naplňování pracovních úkolů méně samostatné. Zaměstnanci představující v rámci homogenního pracovního kolektivu menšinu z hlediska pohlaví, nejsou vystaveni negativním vlivům, popsaným v teoretické části mojí práce.

Abstract:

The subject of my thesis is to analyze the impact of gender-homogeneous teams, both female and male, on the formation of labor relations and working environment in general. In the theoretical section, I focus on three main themes: Men and women in society, Influence of gender on the organization and Gender and the labor market. The research is based on the results of my two surveys, one was conducted in predominantly female work team and the second in a predominantly male work team. In my thesis, I discovered that the reality versus theory differ in some areas, especially in a positive sense. Slowly disappears trend when women returning from maternity leave have been disadvantaged by this fact. My thesis also refuted the assumption that men are more preferred as a superiors, than women. Women in managerial positions are able stand up and play as good as men. My thesis also did not confirmed that women are in fulfilling of work assignments less independent. Employees representing the minority in homogeneous work team in terms of gender, are not exposed to negative influences, as described in the theoretical part of my thesis.
