Interdental hygiene - her meaning, options and pitfalls

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou mezizubního prostoru a možnostmi pro zachování optimálního orálního zdraví. Teoretická část poskytuje obecné informace týkající se závěsného aparátu a mezizubního prostoru. Popisuje zubní biofilm, jeho složení, tvorbu a mikrobiální zástupce, jelikož retence plaku v mezizubním prostoru je častou příčinou patologických změn v dutině ústní. Tyto procesy způsobují zubní kaz nebo také zánět dásní (gingivitis), přecházející následně v parodontitidu. Teoretická část se nadále zabývá motivací a mezizubními pomůckami. Všechny informace a poznatky byly zpracovány literárními a webovými zdroji, které jsou vypsány na samotném konci bakalářské práce.Praktická část se skládá ze dvou částí. Nejprve zahrnuje vyhodnocení dotazníku, který je směřován lidské veřejnosti. Otázky jsou zaměřeny na míru informovanosti v oblasti interdentální hygieny. Zjištěné výsledky jsou podrobně a přehledně vyobrazeny pomocí sloupcových a koláčových grafů. Druhým cílem praktické části je zjistit účinnost 3 mezizubních pomůcek – konkrétně gumového párátka, zubní nitě a mezizubního kartáčku – za pomoci BOB indexu.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of interdental space and the possibilities for maintaining optimal oral health. The theoretical part provides general information regarding the suspension apparatus and the interdental space. It describes the dental biofilm, its composition, formation and microbial representative, as plaque retention in the interdental space is often the cause of pathological changes in the oral cavity. These processes cause tooth decay or gingivitis, which subsequently turns into periodontitis. The theoretical part continues to deal with motivation and interdental aids. All information and findings were processed by literary and web sources, which are listed at the very end of the bachelor's thesis. The practical part consists of two parts. First, it involves the evaluation of a questionnaire addressed to the human public. The questions focus on the level of awareness in the field of interdental hygiene. The results are shown in detail and clearly using bar and pie charts. The second goal of the practical part is to determine the effectiveness of 3 interdental aids - namely a toothpick, dental floss and inter-toothbrush - using the BOB index.
