Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce popisuje jeden z mnoha fenoménů současného akulturačního procesu, a to ztrátu schopnosti dnešních intelektuálů předávat informace o jevech probíhajících v současné společnosti takovým způsobem, aby popis skutečnosti nebyl pouhým vágním či chaotickým sdělením, které nepostihuje podstatu problému a jen zakrývá nekompetentnost autora. Před tímto typickým jevem současnosti není ušetřena ani oblast ekonomie a financí. Také v této sféře, jak ukazuje diplomová práce na praktických příkladech, jsou procesy odehrávající se v hospodářském světě popisovány upadlým žargonem. Úroveň článků z Hospodářských novin si bohužel často nezadá s úrovní zpráv předkládaných bulvárními deníky. Užívání právě tohoto nekvalitního způsobu vyjadřování se tak stává významným činitelem v procesu akulturace – s degradací jazyka upadá naše myšlení a společnost složená z jedinců dosud schopných procesu individuace se tak neviditelně, ale zásadně proměňuje ve společnost masovou, složenou z davu „jedinců“ typu „homo economicus“, ve vší jejich pokleslé, ryze pudové podobě. Lidská historie bohužel už zažila až příliš často mnoho davových hnutí, která také vždy začínala pozvolnou degradací jazyka, fetišizací nejasných pojmů, falšováním skutečnosti pomocí obsahově prázdných slov – a končila násilím vůči skupinám oněch „Jiných“, označovaných oním chaotickým jazykem za nepřátele. Boj o jasnost, přesnost a čistotu jazyka proto nikdy nekončí a je úkolem každého z nás.

Abstract:

The thesis being submitted describes one of the many phenomena of the present acculturisation process, namely the fact that the intellectuals of our time have lost the ability to inform on the phenomena taking place in present - day society in a manner that ensures that their description of reality is not merely a vague or chaotic statement which fails to capture the essence of the issue and merely serves to cover up the author’s lack of competence. This typical phenomenon has even made its way into the sector of economics and finance. In this sector, as this thesis shows on practical examples, the processes taking place in the world of business also frequently end up being described in degenerate jargon. The journalistic standard of articles in the business newspaper “Hospodarske noviny” is unfortunately frequently no better than the standard used for the presentation of news in the tabloids. The use of such low - quality means of expression consequently becomes a significant factor in the acculturisation process – with the degeneration of language, our thought processes also fall to a lower level and a society composed of individuals previously capable of individual critical thinking becomes invisibly but fundamentally transformed into a mob of individuals that can be characterized as “homo economicus”, in its most degenerated, purely urge – driven form. Human history has unfortunately witnessed all too many mass movements which also nearly always began with a gradual degradation of the language, the making of unclear concepts into fetishes, the falsification of facts through the use words that are devoid of any content – and ended in violence against those “Others” marked as enemies by such chaotic language. The battle for clarity, accuracy and purity of language therefore never ends and must be undertaken by each and every one of us.
