Abstract:

The first part of the thesis focuses on explaining what the War of Independence was, the events preceding the war, causes of the conflict and mentions the main battles and engagements. The second part is dedicated to sites commemorating the war ? statues, obelisks, national parks and significant buildings visitors can see even nowadays where the history of each particular place will be described in short as well.

Abstract:

První část bakalářské práce je věnována objasnění pojmu ?Válka za nezávislost?. Kapitola přiblíží, kdo ve válce bojoval, kde a za jakých podmínek válka probíhala a co bylo jejím hlavním cílem. Taktéž přiblíží události, které válce předcházely, příčiny konfliktu a budou zmíněny také nejdůležitější bitvy a události této doby. V druhé části se práce zaměřuje na místa připomínající válku, jako jsou památníky, sochy, obrazy a malby, národní parky a významné budovy, které mohou návštěvníci vidět také v těchto dnech. U jednotlivých míst bude také stručně popsána jejich historie za doby války za nezávislost.
