Thermical sources of light and lasers, application in ophthalmology

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o laserech a jejich využití v oftalmologii. Na začátku práce jsou informace o historii laserů, je popsán princip vzniku laserového záření a následně rozdělení laserů dle několika kritérií. Následuje popis možných interakcí laserového záření s oční tkání a základní rozdělení druhů laserové terapie. Hlavní část se zabývá fotoablací, popisuje druhy laserové refrakční chirurgie a její komplikace. Poslední část je o fotokoagulaci. Podává informace o onemocněních, které se pomocí této metody ošetřují, popisuje konkrétní druhy terapie.

Abstract:

This thesis discusses lasers and their use in ophthalmology. At the beginning, history of lasers is described and principle of laser radiation is clarified. Subsequently, there is apportionment of lasers according to several criteria. Next part describes possible interactions of laser radiation with occular tissues and main categories of laser therapy. Main part deals with photoablation, describes the types of laser refractive surgery and its complications. Last part of this thesis is about photocoagulation. It provides informations about diseases that are treated by this method and describes specific kinds of therapy.
