Consideration of the motif and rituals of death in the Elizabethan drama
Abstract:
Práce rozebírá motivy a rituály smrti v alžbětinském dramatu v kontextu dané doby. Pro přesnější analýzu popisuje dobový kontext, reformaci a prostor alžbětinského dramatu, následně analyzuje vybraná díla od Williama Shakespeara, Christophera Marlowa a Thomase Kyda. Závěr práce je věnován jejich komparaci s akcentací na motiv smrti v jejich dramatech a porovnáním s dobovým kontextem.
Abstract:
The work analyzes the motifs and rituals of death in Elizabethan drama in the context of the time. For a more accurate analysis, it describes the contemporary context, the Reformation and the space of Elizabethan drama, then analyzes selected works by William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe and Thomas Kyd.
