Distribution of surface flow velocity in selected meanders of the Odra River at various water stages

Abstract:

Cílem práce je zjištění a interpretování vlivu říčního dřeva v korytě vybraných úseků řeky Odry na rychlost a distribuci povrchového proudění vody v korytě a tím na morfodynamiku koryta za pomoci leteckých videozáznamů vybraných úseků koryta zpracovaných v softwaru Fudaa-LSPIV, který poskytl zobrazení směrů a rychlostí proudění v síti bodů pokrývající analyzovaný úsek. Teoretická část práce zahrnuje vysvětlení a informace o částicové obrazové velocimetrii, pak její velkoměřítkové verzi a o samotném softwaru Fudaa-LSPIV. Charakteristika zájmového území se zabývá danou částí toku řeky Odry, kde se rozebírá, krom její polohy, také geologie, geomorfologie, hydrologie a klima studovaného území, taktéž jako vliv člověka. Praktická část obsahuje postup pořízení videozáznamů, instalace a seznámení se s pracovním prostředím softwaru Fudaa-LSPIV a následně úplný postup zpracování jednoho ze tří pořízených videozáznamů do výsledku zobrazujícího velocimetrii proudění. Ve výsledcích a diskusi jsou vyobrazeny všechny tři zpracované výsledky videozáznamů s vypsanými parametry, dále jsou interpretovány a jednotlivé úkazy na snímcích popsány. Právě podle těchto výsledků bylo možné vidět přímý vliv říčního dřeva, který svou přítomností působí v některých případech jak erozně, tak v jiných protierozně.

Abstract:

The aim of the work is to determine and interpret the influence of river wood in the riverbed of selected sections of the Oder River on the velocity and distribution of surface water flow in the riverbed and thus on the morphodynamics of the riverbed using aerial video recordings of selected sections of the riverbed processed in the Fudaa-LSPIV software, which provided a representation of flow directions and velocities in a grid of points covering the analyzed section. The theoretical part of the work includes explanation and information about particle image velocimetry, then its large-scale version and about the Fudaa-LSPIV software itself. The characterization of the area of interest deals with the given part of the Oder River course, where, besides its location, the geology, geomorphology, hydrology and climate of the study area are also discussed, as well as the influence of man. The practical part includes the procedure of taking video recordings, installation and familiarisation with the working environment of the Fudaa-LSPIV software and then the complete procedure of processing one of the three video recordings into a result showing the flow velocimetry. In the results and discussion, the three processed video results are shown with the parameters listed, and the individual phenomena in the images are interpreted and described. It is according to these results that it was possible to see the direct influence of river wood, which by its presence is both erosive in some cases and anti-erosive in others.
