Building of (social) State: social reforms in France in 19th century

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je porovnání ideální sociální politiky se sociální politikou ve skutečnosti aplikovanou ve Francii v 19. století. Práce se nejvíce zaměřuje na osobu Napoleona III., kdy je nejprve představen kontext dobové sociální a ekonomické diskuse a posléze jsou představeny ideje tohoto státníka. První část práce je věnována politice důchodové, druhá část práce se zabývá vzděláváním ve Francii, třetí část se zaměří na vývoj na poli zdravotní péče. Poté bude představena problematika sociálního bydlení a nakonec se zaměříme na ideje Ludvíka Napoleona Bonaparte. Zjištěné odchylky mezi ideální sociální politikou a sociální politikou reálně aplikovanou jsou vysvětleny v rámci historického kontextu.

Abstract:

The main goal of this thesis is to compare the ideal social policy with the social policy which was indeed aplicated in 19th century France. This thesis is mainly focused on Napoleon III, when on the first place, we discuss the presentation of context of the social and economic discussion of this period and after that Napoleon´s ideas are presented. The first part of this thesis is dedicated to the policy of Social security, the second part is focused on the presentation of the Education policy. The third part deals with the Health policy and after that the presentation of Social housing policy follows. In the end, we focus on the ideas of Louis Napoleon Bonaparte. Discovered differencies between the ideal and the real social policy will be explained in the framework of the historic context.
