Teachers Beliefs at the first level of Primary school

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá profesními přesvědčeními učitelů, kteří vyučují na 1. stupni ZŠ. Profesní přesvědčení se vyvíjejí během celého profesního působení učitelů. Na utváření profesních přesvědčení učitelů má vliv mnoho různých věcí, ať už se jedná o studium nebo o všechny zkušenosti, které budoucí učitel získá během svého profesního života. V této práci je dále popsána a blíže charakterizována učitelská profese. Zásadním aspektem učitelské profese je profesní myšlení učitele, které se také významným způsobem podílí na utváření profesních přesvědčení učitele. Další součástí této práce jsou kapitoly věnované profesním hodnotám, kompetencím, postojům, jednání a profesnímu vývoji a rozvoji. Všechny tyto aspekty ovlivňují zaměření profesních přesvědčení učitelů a mají vliv na jejich utváření. Hlavním cílem této práce je zjistit to, jak zaměřená přesvědčení převládají u budoucích učitelů prvního stupně na základní škole, a zároveň přijít na to, co má celkově největší vliv na utváření profesních přesvědčení u budoucích učitelů. Během provedeného výzkumného šetření bylo zjištěno, že u budoucích učitelů prvního stupně základních škol převládají přesvědčení, která jsou zaměřená na žáky. Zároveň se zjistilo i několik faktorů, které mají vliv na utváření profesních přesvědčení u budoucích učitelů. Celkový přínos práce je v tom, že sám učitel může díky zaměření svých přesvědčení do velké míry ovlivnit kvalitu učení a to, jaký přínos bude mít jeho působení na žáky.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the professional beliefs of teachers who teach at the first level of primary school. Professional beliefs evolve throughout teachers' professional careers. Many different things influence the formation of teachers' professional beliefs, whether it is their studies or all the experiences a future teacher will gain during their professional life. In this paper, the teaching profession is further described and characterized in more detail. A crucial aspect of the teaching profession is the teacher's professional mindset, which also plays a significant role in shaping the teacher's professional beliefs. The chapters on professional values, competencies, attitudes, behaviours and professional development and development are another part of this thesis. All these aspects influence the focus of teachers' professional beliefs and have an impact on their formation. The main aim of this thesis is to find out how focused beliefs are prevalent among prospective first grade teachers in primary school, and also to find out what has the greatest overall influence on the formation of professional beliefs in prospective teachers. During the course of the research investigation, it was found that student-centered beliefs are prevalent among prospective elementary school first grade teachers. At the same time, several factors were also found to influence the formation of professional beliefs in prospective teachers. The overall contribution of the paper is that the teacher himself can, through the focus of his beliefs, influence to a large extent the quality of teaching and how his impact on pupils will benefit.
