Lidské aktivity kontaminují ekosystémy celého světa perzistujícími těžkými kovy. Mnoho mikroorganismù předvádí rezistenci na těžké kovy ve vodním, půdním i průmyslovém znečištěném prostředí. Human activities have contaminated ecosystems around the world with persistent heavy metals. Many microorganisms demonstrate resistance to metals in water, soil and industrial waste.
