Geography of Fear: The perception of spatial distribution of ethnic minorities in Teplice

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce má analyzovat, jak majoritní společnost vnímá etnické menšiny a místa spojená s jejich pobytem na území města Teplice. Výsledkem práce bude vyhodnocení výsledků, které budou získány empirickým šetřením s obyvateli Teplic v terénu. Především se jedná o dotazníkovou formu, dozorování a fotodokumentaci. Na základě výsledků budou vytvořeny pocitové mapy zájmového území. V teoretické části je práce zaměřena na vymezení pojmu geografie strachu . behaviorální geografie, percepce prostoru a kulturní geografie spojená v souvislosti s etnickými skupinami. Další součást práce jsou kapitoly věnované charakteru zájmového a městského prostoru, který je spojen s jednotlivými etnickými menšinami.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis has analyzed, how society perceives the majority ethnic minorities and places associated with their stay in the city of Teplice. The result of the work will evaluate the results to be obtained by empirical investigation with residents of Teplice in the field. This is primarily the questionnaire form, observation and photodocumentation. Based on the results mental maps of the area will be created. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the definition of geography of fear, perception of space and an ethnic group. Further, there are chapters, which deal with the nature of interest and urban spaces that are associated with different ethnic minorities.
