Competence manager in nonprofit sector

Abstract:

Má bakalářská práce se zabývá kompetencemi manažera v neziskovém sektoru. Jejím cílem je poukázat na dovednosti a schopnosti, kterými by měl disponovat, s přihlédnutím na poslání organizace, na své vazby k spolupracovníkům i klientům, dobrý manažer. V teoretické části se zaměřím na samotnou osobu manažera, na jeho celkovou charakteristiku. V této kapitole tedy poukážu na specifika manažerské funkce, nastíním strategii a cíle práce vedoucích pracovníků, zaměřím se rovněž na manažerskou etiku, na činnosti manažera, jeho styly řízení a v neposlední řadě na manažerské funkce. V další kapitole se zabývám kompetencemi manažera, rozborem pojmu kompetence, kompetenčními modely, dovednostmi a schopnostmi. Nastíním rovněž osobnost manažera komplexně a zaměřím se také na možnosti jejího rozvoje. V poslední kapitole teoretické části poukážu na rozdíly v řízení organizace ziskové a neziskové, na specifika kompetencí manažerů v neziskovém sektoru, na rozdíly v charakteristikách manažerů pracujících v ziskovém a neziskovém sektoru. V závěru se budu zabývat konkrétním modelem manažerů v sociálních službách. Praktická část obsahuje popis dvou neziskových organizací a dotazník s danými kompetencemi, na základě jehož výsledků je vypracována případová studie ve formě rozhovorů s doplňujícími otázkami. Z výsledků dotazníků a rozhovorů je zpracována SWOT analýza pro každého manažera, tedy jejich silné a slabé stránky, příležitosti a hrozby a porovnání manažerů mezi sebou. Tyto zjištěná fakta jsou srovnávána s teorií. Hlavním cílem této případové studie je poukázat na kompetence manažera v sociálních službách a jeho případné nedostatky.

Abstract:

My bachelor?s thesis focuses on the problem of manager competence in non-profit sector. Its main focus is to point out the abilities and capabilities which a good manager should possess, with regard to the aim of the organization he serves, his ties to the clients as well as his coworkers. The teoretical part focuses on the manager as a person, his overall characteristics. This chapter points out the specifics of the manager?s role, presents the strategy and aims in manager?s work, managerial ethics, the management techniques and last but not least the managerial functions. The following chapter concerns the managerial competence, the meaning of the word competence itself, competence models, abilities and capabilities. I will also outline the personality of a manager in its complexity and focus on the possibilities of its development. The last chapter of the theoretical part of my thesis points out the differences between managing a business and non-profit organization, the specifics of the managerial competence in non-profit sector, the differences in manager characteristics between profit and non-profit sector. Towards the end I focus on a particular model of a social service manager. The practical part contains a description of the two non-profit organizations, and a questionnaire with the relevant competencies, based on the results of a case study are presented in the form of interviews with additional questions. The results of questionnaires and interviews is SWOT analysis for each manager, their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and managers compared with each other. These observed facts are compared with the theory. The main objective of this case study is to show the competence manager in social services and it is possible shortcomings.
