Absolute optical instruments and geodesic lenses

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se v první polovině věnuje převážně vybudování teorie příslušné pojmu transmutace indexu lomu a odvození aparátu pro nalezení trajektorií paprsků v optických prostředích daných profilem indexu lomu. V druhé polovině se tyto nástroje aplikují na několik příkladů nejen z množiny absolutních optických instrumentů. Vyšetříme chování indexu lomu a paprsků při transmutaci a výsledky doplníme grafickými podklady. Dále prozkoumáme možnost odstranění singularit z indexu lomu a v závěrečné části se budeme věnovat problematice geodetických čoček.

Abstract:

The first half of this thesis deals mostly with building theory of transmutation of refractive index and derivation of apparatus for calculating trajectory of light in optical media described by refractive index. In the second half we apply these theoretical instruments to several examples of absolut optical instruments and other optical media. We describe behaviour of refractive index and rays in context of transmutation and supplement the results with graphical content. Next we explore the possibility of removing singularities from the refractive index and in the final part we adress the issue of geodesic lenses.
