Cieľom diplomovej práce je analýza vývoja príjmovej nerovnosti v krajinách západnej Európy a empirické overenie vzťahu medzi príjmovou nerovnosťou a redistribúciou. Prvá kapitola vymedzuje pojmy ako príjem, bohatstvo a redistribúcia. Zároveň poskytuje prehľad základných spôsobov merania výšky príjmovej nerovnosti.
