The poetical works of František Sokol Tůma

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje poezii Františka Sokola Tůmy, na základě analýzy vybraných básnických textů chceme naznačit tematický záběr tohoto básníka. Tůmovu tvorbu představujeme v krátkém medailonu a zařazujeme ji do kontextu literatury severní Moravy a Slezska na přelomu 19. a 20. století. V hlavní části analyzujeme jak básnické texty, které vyšly knižně, tak vybrané rukopisy zachované v autorově pozůstalosti. V závěru sledujeme dobové i dnešní vnímání básníkovy tvorby a hodnotíme autorův přínos pro kulturní život na Ostravsku. Do přílohy jsme pro ilustraci Tůmova básnického stylu a ukázku jeho širokého tematického záběru umístili výbor z autorových básní.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the poetical works of František Sokol Tůma. Based on the analysis of selected poetical texts, the thesis tries to indicate the poet's thematic range. We inroduce Tůma's poetical output in a short portrait and classify it within the literary context of northern Moravia and Czech Silesia at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. In the main section, both poetical texts published in print and selected hand-written texts, preserved in the author's estate, are analyzed. In the final part, contemporary and present-day reception of the poet's works are investigated and the author's contributions to the cultural life in the region of Ostrava are judged. The appendix contains sample of the author's poems illustrating his broad thematic range.
