The Motivation of Students for Studying at a College in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se věnuje motivaci studentů ke studiu na vyšších odborných školách uměleckého zaměření. Analyzuje motivační faktory a hodnotí jejich vliv pro volbu studia na VOŠ. V rešeršní části práce, za pomoci dokumentů a odborné literatury, je zpracován pojem motivace a analýza postavení VOŠ v české vzdělávací soustavě. Práce předkládá dvě výzkumná šetření: kvantitativní, pomocí dotazníku, se zaměřením na motivaci studentů k volbě studia na VOŠ, a kvalitativní, pomocí interview, se zaměřením na motivaci studentů ke studiu. Získaná data jsou statisticky vyhodnocena a popsána. Výsledkem je souhrnný popis významu a postavení VOŠ z hlediska zájmu studentů o tento druh školy.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on motivation of students for studying at colleges specialized on artistic education. It analyzes motivating factors and evaluates its influence on the choice of study at a college. The motivation and the analysis of the status of colleges within the Czech educational system are elaborated in the research part of the thesis with the aid of documents and technical literature. The thesis describes the two research testings: quantitative, using a questionnaire focused on the motivation of students for choosing to study at a college and qualitative, using an interview focused on the motivation of students for studying. The gained data are statistically evaluated and described. The outcome of the thesis is a summarizing description of importance and position of colleges from the point of view of students´ interest in this type of school.
