Evaluation of various methods of winter wheat seed treatment in field experiments

Abstract:

Teoretická část diplomové práce uvádí charakteristiku hlavních chorob přenosných osivem ozimé pšenice. Jsou v ní uvedeny možnosti ošetření osiva, především chemické moření a alternativy ošetření nízkoteplotní plazmou a nízkoenergetickými elektrony. Praktická část je zaměřena na víceleté vyhodnocení (2016-2020) různých variant ošetření osiva 3-4 odrůd ozimé pšenice v maloparcelních polních pokusech na Polní pokusné stanici AF MENDELU v Žabčicích. Hodnocenými znaky jsou výnos zrna, počet klasů na m2, hmotnost tisíce zrn, objemová hmotnost zrna a obsah N-látek v zrnu. Výsledky jsou zpracovány analýzou variance a následným Tukeyovým testem. Lze z nich vytvořit závěr, že u osiva s dobrým zdravotním stavem nebyl efekt chemického i fyzikálního ošetření na výnos a kvalitu zrna během pětiletého porovnávání v maloparcelních polních pokusech statisticky průkazně odlišný od neošetřené kontroly. V diskusi a závěrech jsou posouzeny možnosti uplatnění alternativních fyzikálních metod ošetření osiva v pěstitelské praxi.

Abstract:

The theoretical part in the diploma thesis presents the characteristics of main diseases transmitted by seeds winter wheat. It lists the possibilities of seed treatment, especially seed dressing and alternatives to low-temperature plasma and low-energy electron treatment. The practical part is focused on multi-year evaluation (2016-2020) of various variants of seed treatment of 3-4 varieties of winter wheat in small-plot experiments at the Field Experimental Station AF MENDELU in Žabčice. The evaluated characteristics are grain yield, number of ears per m2, weight of a thousand grains, volume weight and content of nitrogenous substances in the grain. The results are processed by analysis of variance and subsequent Tukey's test. It can be concluded that for seeds with good health the effect of chemical and physical treatment on yield and grain quality during a five-year comparison in small-plot field trials was not statistically significantly different from the untreated control. The discussion and conclusions assess the possibilities of applying alternative physical methods of seed treatment in cultivation practice.
