The process of mourning and perceived life meaningfulness

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se nejprve snaží ve své teoretické části přinést přehled o vnímání smrti a pohřbu dnes i v minulosti, především se však zabývá procesem truchlení. Nejprve nabízí pohled jednotlivých autorů na truchlení, jeho význam v životě pozůstalého, zabývá se fázemi a činitele procesu truchlení a jeho případnými komplikacemi. Dále popisuje vnímání smyslu života filozofy a autory, kteří se tímto tématem zabývají, propojuje smysl života se smrtí a osvětluje vliv smrti na vnímání tohoto smyslu. Ve výzkumné části práce je zjišťována souvislost mezi úmrtím blízké osoby a ztrátou smyslu života. Práce se ptá, jakým způsobem lidé vnímají smysl života, zabývá se činitele a okolnostmi, které by mohly tomuto jevu ztráty smyslu při úmrtí blízkého předcházet. Také mezi sebou porovnává činitele a průběh truchlení.

Abstract:

The submitted diploma thesis first tries to bring an overview of the perception of death and funeral today and in the past in its theoretical part, but above all it deals with the process of mourning. First it offers the view of individual authors on mourning, its importace in the life of the bereaved, deals with the phases and factors of the grieving process and its possible complications. Furthermore, it describes the perception of the meaning of life by philosophers and authors who deal with this subject, linking the meaning of life with death and illuminating the influence of death on the perception of this meaning. In the research part of the thesis the connection between the death of a close person and the loss of the meaning of life is investigated. The thesis asks how people perceive the meaning of life, deals with factors and circumstances that could prevent this phenomenon of loss of meaning when they die. It also compares the factors and the course of mourning among themselves.
